Experience

My career in mental health began in 2012 after graduating with a Bachelor's in Social Work from Georgia State University. My internship was at a women's resource center and domestic violence shelter. Since then, I have worked in a variety of settings, including adolescent residential programs, in-home family therapy, adult primary care, and Adult Community Clinical Services (ACCS).

While working, I returned to school and earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Framingham State University in May 2024. During my graduate studies, I completed a practicum with individuals in outpatient substance use treatment and an internship providing outpatient therapy to individuals and couples.

I currently work under the license and supervision of Jessie Shanks, LMHC, LCPC.

Identity

Because therapy is a deeply personal experience, you may wish to work with a provider whose identities resonate with your own. I identify as a white, cisgender woman, American, middle class, non-religious, non-disabled, and in a monogamous relationship. Although I currently live in Massachusetts, I spent many formative years in Georgia.

I welcome clients of all backgrounds, including those from the global majority and of diverse gender identities and lived experiences. I also invite exploration of identity in our work together and remain mindful of how our similarities and differences may influence the therapeutic process.

Interests

I’m a lifelong animal lover and currently share my home with four cats—some of whom may occasionally make an appearance in our sessions. In my free time, I enjoy reading, going for walks, listening to ’90s music, doing crafts, and discovering new restaurants.
