I specialize in working with individuals (14+) and couples navigating challenges such as trauma, ADHD, depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, relationship difficulties, and general feelings of dissatisfaction.
In my work with couples, I recognize that communication is often a major barrier to connection. Many partners are also managing their own mental health needs, which can complicate interactions and contribute to misunderstandings. I provide a safe, supportive environment where both individuals can openly express their thoughts and emotions. Together, we explore the underlying dynamics affecting connection and work collaboratively on strategies to enhance mutual understanding and empathy.
Drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic approaches, I help couples build practical skills for healthier communication. This includes learning how to express needs effectively, navigate conflict, and cultivate emotional intimacy. I guide partners in recognizing their individual needs within the relationship and collaborating to integrate those needs in meaningful ways. My goal is to empower couples to reconnect and strengthen their bond, even in the face of personal struggles. I also extend my work to family therapy, supporting small family systems in improving communication and interactional patterns.
Additional topics I address in couples work include physical intimacy, finances, ethical non-monogamy (for those exploring or practicing it), codependency/people-pleasing, and executive functioning challenges.
With individuals, I focus on self-discovery and skill-building. I support clients in developing personalized coping strategies that align with their unique experiences and mental health needs. Drawing from DBT, CBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I use a blended approach to help clients reframe unhelpful thought patterns, build resilience, and learn to accept what cannot be changed. For more rationally minded individuals, I also help with accessing and processing emotions. My background in primary care informs my holistic approach to wellness, integrating both emotional and physical well-being into our sessions.
I am available for telehealth sessions only.
